Expert Roofing Damage Inspection and Analysis

Corrosion Experts - Consulting and Testing Services

There are many good roofing inspectors out there, but when claims are denied or the extent of roofing damage isn’t clear, you can count on US Corrosion for expert roofing damage inspection and analysis. Our licensed engineers will come to the site or evaluate panels/samples removed by roofers, and then use microscopy, non-destructive testing, and other methods to confirm if hail has seriously damaged the roof or if it is only cosmetic in nature. We also provide expert witness testimony when litigation is necessary.

Roofing Damage Case Study:

In the roof damage case study below, a single panel from a metal roof with numerous dents was removed for inspection to confirm if there was a permanent damage present in the coating or if it was merely superficial. Many dents up to 2″ in diameter were observed, several of which were removed and compared with undented areas. Cracks were observed penetrating through the coating in the dented regions, while there were no cracks present in the un-dented areas. Ultimately, the evidence helped the homeowner with getting their claim accepted by an unhelpful insurer that had tried to balk on paying.

Residential and Industrial Roofing Evaluation

We have experience in roofing of all kinds, both industrial and residential, and our licensed professional engineers can provide thorough reports to confirm or deny the extent of damage based on what we observed.

US Corrosion works equally well with homeowners, contractors, inspectors, and insurance companies. Our goal is to objectively evaluate the extent of roofing damage using tools like optical and electron microscopy. See an example of our work below on flat and dented roof analysis from hail damage:
